MVP Bridges, Zion Lead Team USA Past Team World in Rising Stars
After a Luka Doncic half-court heave at the buzzer sent Team World into halftime up 10, Miles Bridges and Team USA dominated the second part of the night en route to a 151-131 victory.
In what was a showcase of the NBA’s youth movement, Team USA overcame the World team with a strong third quarter push to reign supreme on Friday night. The Rising Stars MVP Bridges poured in 20 points in the win, while Golden State Warriors rookie Eric Paschall added 23 points of his own. Last-minute replacement Collin Sexton had himself a good night as well with 21 points as Atlanta Hawks All-Star Trae Young finished with 18 in the winning effort.
To no one’s surprise, Zion Williamson dazzled the crowd all night long, showing off his super-human athleticism by finishing lobs and even bending the rim with one of his highlight dunks. Finishing with 14 points, even Williamson’s missed dunk attempts had the Chicago crowd at the edge of their seats.
Over on the World side, RJ Barrett led the way with 27 points, while fellow Canadian Brandon Clarke added 22 points in the loss. Doncic finished the night with 16 points.
All-Star Weekend continue on Saturday night with the Skills Challenge, Three-Point Shootout, and Dunk Contest!
