Miami Heat Celebrate Dwyane Wade’s Career, Retire No. 3 Jersey
Dwyane Wade is the best player in Miami Heat history.
This past week he was treated exactly as such.
In what has and still is an ongoing three-day celebration, the Miami Heat retired Dwyane Wade’s No. 3 jersey on Friday evening in what was a night to remember. Alongside his family, former teammates, friends and coaches, an emotional Wade watched as his wife, Gabrielle Union, and their kids raised his jersey to the rafters.
Introduced by team president Pat Riley, Wade spoke from the heart, thanking everyone who helped him along the way. He reflected on his great career, talked about the influence of his parents, and thank his wife and children. He even touched on some of his great teammates, including Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Udonis Haslem, and Alonzo Mourning.

Lastly, Wade honoured his late friend, Kobe Bryant at the conclusion of the ceremony.
“Kobe said the most important thing is to try to inspire others so they can be great in whatever they try to do,” Wade said. “I hope I inspired you. Thank you for making me a part of your legacy. Please know you’re a huge part of mine.”
Flash will never be forgotten in Wade county.
