NBA Consulting with Centers for Disease Control over Coronavirus
The NBA has released a statement in regards to the quickly-spreading Coronavirus.
“The health and safety of our employees, teams, players and fans is paramount. We are coordinating with our teams and consulting with the CDC and infectious disease specialists on the coronavirus and continue to monitor the situation closely,” said the league after consulting with the Center for Disease Control.
The Corona Virus has officially hit Oregon. More specifically Lake Oswego…Make sure y’all washing y’all hands with soap for 20 or more seconds & covering ya mouths when you cough. I am officially taking a break from signing autographs until further notice.

At this point, there is no immediate plans to postpone any games or even hold them in empty arenas. Soccer matches in Italy have already been postponed due to the virus outbreak, while there is now potential that the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo could be delayed or even canceled. The Chinese Basketball League has halted its season due to the growing fears surrounding the virus.
Both the MLB and NHL have been keeping tabs on the virus.
“We are in regular communication with our clubs on the issue and have passed along best practices being recommended by CDC and Public Health Canada medical experts. Most of these steps are common sense precautions, but there definitely involves consciousness raising,” said NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly.
The first death in the United States as a result of the Coronavirus has been reported this past weekend.
