LaMelo Ball, Manager Jackson Purchase Australian NBL Franchise
Seems like LaMelo Ball enjoyed his time playing in Australia.
So much so, the youngest of the three Ball brothers, along with his manager, Jermaine Jackson, has decided to purchase the Illawarra Hawks, the NBL team Ball played for during the 2019-20 campaign. The financial terms of the purchase were not released, nor did the team comment on the sale to this point.
“We own the team,” Jackson said. “It’s a done deal.”

Ball averaged 17 points, seven assists and 7.5 rebounds per game across 12 contests with the Hawks.
“They opened their arms to him,” Jackson said. “They made us feel like we are at home. When we started hearing about the issues they were going through, we talked about it and decided, ‘Let’s own the team.’ He is going to be locked into his NBA career, but we are going to hire the right people to oversee everything. He wants to create the best basketball program possible for that community there.”
Ball is projected to be a top-5 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
