Chris Paul, Trae Young, Others to Participate in Game of H-O-R-S-E
Basketball is coming back!
Well, kind of.
The NBA and the NBPA have announced today that they will run a game of HORSE, which will air on ESPN beginning on Sunday April 12, with the semifinals and finals slated for April 16.
Appearing in the tournament will be Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, recent Hall of Fame selectee and WNBA legend Tamika Catchings. NBA alums Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce will take part in the contest as well, while Zach LaVine, Mike Conley, and WNBA player Allie Quigley round out the bracket.
NBA commentator Mark Jones is set to serve as the host for the festivities.
The NBA has been on hiatus for nearly a month and commissioner Adam Silver has stated on numerous occasions that he hopes to create some sort of fan engagement through basketball during this unprecedented global pandemic. There is still no timetable on the NBA’s return to play.
Creative thinking by the NBA!
