NBA Owners, Players Feeling Optimistic About Potential Season Return
The optimism is growing around the NBA.
According to reports, many within league circles believe the NBA season will return. On Friday, the league’s Board of Governors will meet virtually to discuss a potential plan for a return to play.
“Basketball guys are for it — they want to play,” one NBA player from a title-contending team wrote. “MLB (is) different (because) they have a whole season. We just have 1-2 months to finish up.”
While commissioner Adam Silver stated he will have no legitimate update until at least May 1st, sources tell The Athletic “that optimism abounds in the ownership, player, agent and league office ranks” in terms of saving the remainder of the 19-20 campaign.
The NBA has said to be eying a “Bubble City” for all teams for the remaining games with Las Vegas seeming as the most plausible option.
