Both sides are finalizing a multi-year deal after Karnisovas impressed ownership following his second interview with the team. With this move, John Paxson is expected to be moved into a strictly advisory role, while Gar Forman seems to be on his way out of Chicago as Karnisovas is expected to begin re-tooling the Bulls’ front office.
The 48-year old executive comes to Chicago after years of success in Denver, which included drafting Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, while signing former All-Star Paul Millsap to a contract. Additional Karnisovas was instrumental in bringing in head coach Mike Malone who has since transformed the Nuggets into a Western Conference contender.
The Bulls are ready to hit the re-set button and it will be up to their new executive to lead them into the future.
