Chicago Bulls Hire Arturas Karnisovas as VP of Basketball Operations

The Chicago Bulls did not waste anytime with their executive search.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Bulls have decided to hire Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas as their new VP of Basketball Operations.

Both sides are finalizing a multi-year deal after Karnisovas impressed ownership following his second interview with the team. With this move, John Paxson is expected to be moved into a strictly advisory role, while Gar Forman seems to be on his way out of Chicago as Karnisovas is expected to begin re-tooling the Bulls’ front office.

The 48-year old executive comes to Chicago after years of success in Denver, which included drafting Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, while signing former All-Star Paul Millsap to a contract. Additional Karnisovas was instrumental in bringing in head coach Mike Malone who has since transformed the Nuggets into a Western Conference contender.

The Bulls are ready to hit the re-set button and it will be up to their new executive to lead them into the future.
