Las Vegas Viewed as Only Option for 2020 NBA Postseason Site
The NBA is unwilling to give up on the 2019-20 campaign.
Reports earlier in the week suggested the NBA is looking to hold its entire playoffs in one or two host cities. At this point in time, it seems like the situation is Las Vegas or bust. It is unlikely that any other city will realistically hold a playoff game given the current situation.
“We all want to play. But we all know we can’t play until things are dramatically different,” said one high ranking executive from a team currently sitting in a playoff spot.
The NBA has held its Summer League in Las Vegas since 2004, creating valuable relationships over that time span. The set up of Vegas will create a very possible solution for the league’s postseason dilemma.
Of course, given the continued spikes in coronavirus cases, this is all a waiting game with no realistic timetable.
