NBA Sets October 12 as Last Possible Date for Game 7 of NBA Finals

The NBA is ramping up its focus to resume play by July 31.

With a 22-team format all but finalized, the league is hoping to finish out the remainder of its 2019-20 season and playoffs at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida. On Thursday of this week, the NBA Board of Governors is set to vote on a finalized plan to play out the season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the NBA has set October 12th as the last possible date for a potential Game 7 for the NBA Finals. The NBA will also have some competition on that date if there happens to be a Game 7 as the NFL is slated to have a Monday Night Game between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers on the same night.

At this time, the NBA is expected to start the 2020-21 season in late December.
