Raptors to Hold Training Camp in Florida Before Heading to Central Site
The defending champions will get the first taste of Florida this Summer.
Yesterday, the league made key announcements in regards to the safety regulations that will be followed at all time at the resort, the daily scheduling, and the amenities that will be available for the players throughout the duration of their stay.
From within: The Raptors will open their training camp at Florida Gulf Coast University in Naples, Florida. I’m told they’re expected to arrive on June 23.
Reconvening in the U.S. (instead of in their home city, like other teams) made most logistical sense. https://t.co/urgVgAh6PA

The NBA also made important accommodations for the Raptors who will now be expected to arrive to Naples, Florida next week on June 23 for the start of training camp 2.0 before stepping foot on campus. The Raptors have voiced concern over being the only NBA team outside of America and were hoping to go straight to the central site instead of forcing their players to cross the border more times than necessary.
Now, the Raptors can by-pass any sort of training that would have originally been done in Toronto.
Furthermore, the league announced the hotel accommodations for teams upon their arrival to Disney World in Orlando. The Raptors will be staying at the Grand Destino hotel alongside the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz and Miami Heat.
Teams will begin a mini-preseason on July 22 before restarting the season on July 30.
