Raptors Set to Square Off Against Lakers as NBA Unveils Schedules
Although the main goal for the defending champion Toronto Raptors will be to remain healthy and to ramp up, their schedule to round out the regular season will be no joke.
With eight games remaining and a somewhat comfortable three game edge over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Raptors are set to face one of the toughest schedules of all 22 teams set to return to the bubble. It will all begin on August 1 when the Raptors take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Aug 1 – Lakers on ESPN (830)
Aug 3 – Heat on NBA TV (130)
Aug 5 – Magic (8)
Aug 7 – Celtics on TNT (9)
Aug 9 – Grizzlies (2)
Aug 10 – Bucks on ESPN (630)
Aug 12 – 76ers on ESPN (630)
Aug 14 – Nuggets (TBD)

All eight teams the Raptors will face sit squarely in playoff position.
Other notable matchups include an August 7th tilt against the Boston Celtics, a Conference Finals rematch against the Milwaukee Bucks on August 10th, and lastly a battle against the Philadelphia 76ers who will be in the midst of a positioning battle with the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. The Raptors will then wrap up their regular season against the Denver Nuggets on August 14.
Since all games will take place in one central site, teams will play every other day as travel will not be an issue.
It will be interesting to see how the Raptors treat these eight games against such stiff competition. Of course, it will serve as a gradual ramp up for a team that has struggled staying healthy all season and if the Raptors are to lock up the two-seed early, we may see more allocated rest on the back end of games.
That being said – Raptors basketball is back!
