Leon Rose, New York Knicks to Eye Carmelo Anthony in Free Agency
Don’t rule out a potential return to the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, new team president Leon Rose is said to be very high on the former All-Star forward. Rose used to be Anthony’s agent while at Creative Artists Agency.
At the time of the NBA’s hiatus, numerous individuals linked Anthony to New York, suggesting the 36-year old veteran was hoping to finish his NBA career in the Big Apple. Those rumours have faded over the past few weeks as Melo has seemed increasingly happy playing alongside the Portland Trail Blazers’ star backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum inside the bubble.
Anthony said he was hoping to remain with the Blazers following the Game 5 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Anthony averaged 15.4 points and 6.3 rebounds on the season.
