Raptors Assistant Denies Domestic Violence Allegations from Ex-Wife
A day after capturing his first win as a “head coach”, Toronto Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin found himself in some serious hot water on Thursday morning.
Early in the morning, Griffin’s estranged wife blasted the Raptors assistant on Twitter, claiming that Griffin beat her and has failed to pay for child support, among many other frightening allegations. Griffin addressed the topic on Thursday morning in statement released by the team.
“This morning, accusations were made against me on social media by my former wife that I vehemently deny,” Griffin said. “We are involved in a longstanding legal dispute over alimony and child support arrangements. I am disappointed to have to address false accusations in this way, and I apologize for any distraction this has potentially caused for our team at this important time.”

The Raptors also made a statement shortly after.
“When we saw these allegations this morning, we were dismayed — Adrian is a valuable member of our team,” the team said in the statement. “Our leadership immediately spoke with him, and he flatly denied the allegations in the posts. We will support the process as he and his former partner settle these matters.”
The decision on Griffin’s future is imminent, but it appears as though Griffin’s daughter took to social media later in the day claiming Griffin did no wrong. Nevertheless, if Griffin did in fact commit any of the offences in the claim, rest assured, his career in the NBA will be over.
