Celtics Move On as Costly Mistakes Burn Raptors in Gritty Game 7
The Boston Celtics have knocked out the defending champion Toronto Raptors in a 92-87 victory in game seven of this eastern conference semi-final.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics, scoring 29 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart also chipped in with 21 and 16 points respectively.
The Raptors’ starters were all held under 41.7% field goal percentage, and the Boston defence kept them at bay despite multiple runs the Raptors went on in an attempt to come back in this game.
Pascal Siakam continued to struggle, and his five turnovers, along with the teams’ overall total of 18 ultimately helped tip the scales in favour of the Celtics. After the game, Siakam spoke to reporters, and he said he takes a lot of the blame for the Raptors loss.
For the Celtics, they advance to the Eastern Conference Finals to matchup with the Miami Heat.
