NBA G League Considering an End-of-the-Year Bubble Tournament
The G League is seriously considering putting together a late-fall tournament.
The concept will of course take place in a bubble environment.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the G League hopes the tournament takes place in either November or December and it will feature its new prospect development team, Ignite, along with the other NBA affiliates. The tournament will also play host to undrafted free agents and numerous top high school prospects such as Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga.

Ignite is a new initiative which will provide players with a one year development program prior to them receiving their NBA opportunity in the following draft.
“We are thrilled to officially announce NBA G League Ignite as the name of our new team for elite prospects and we think it’s a fitting moniker for a group comprised of young players taking the first step of their promising professional careers,” said NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim said in a statement. “These players have a passion for the game and a desire to develop their skills for the next level and it brings us a lot of pride for them to blaze trails as inaugural members of NBA G League Ignite.”
Stay tuned as there is surely more to come on this front.
