Pelicans’ Guard Lonzo Ball Leaves Roc Nation for Klutch Sports
Lonzo Ball appears to have finally found the right agent.
After brief stints with Creative Arts Agency and Roc Nation, the New Orleans Pelicans point guard has signed with super-agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. Paul represents some of the biggest names in the entire sports, including Anthony Davis, Ben Simmons, and of course, LeBron James.
“I wanted to lead my career,” Ball told ESPN, commenting on his decision. “Picking my own representation — just solely as my decision — was Step 1 in that process. For me, it was an easy call and it was the right time to make that call.”
Ball is eligible for an extension this offseason. In his first year with the New Orleans Pelicans since being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Davis blockbuster, Ball blossomed and averaged 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game, while continuing to improve as a shooter and defender.
“Me being in New Orleans, I have no family out there,” Ball said. “It kind of put me on my own for the first time in my life.”
Lonzo’s two young brothers appear to still be signed on with Roc Nation.
