Los Angeles Lakers Take Down Nuggets, One Win Away from Finals
The Los Angeles Lakers have taken a commanding 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets. Anthony Davis and LeBron James led the way for the Lakers, scoring a combined 60 points. Davis got off to a hot start, scoring the Laker’s first 12 points.
Dwight Howard was inserted into the starting lineup, and responded with 12 points and 11 rebounds, six coming off the offensive glass.
Rajon Rondo was also impactful in his time on the court. Rondo contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and seven assists in 21 minutes of action. He also moved to eighth in the all-time playoff assist leaders list, surpassing Scottie Pippen with 1,049 and counting.
The game was a back and forth affair, with the Lakers often going on runs of ten points or more, only for the Nuggets to respond, cutting the leads within single digits.
Jamal Murray scored 32 points on 12-for-19 shooting on the night, continuing his breakout postseason. He also had eight assists in 44 minutes of action.
Nikola Jokic had 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, but dealt with foul trouble during the fourth quarter.
This is the third series in a row where the Nuggets have gone down 3-1. With the win, the Lakers are one win away from advancing to the NBA Finals.
