NBA Looking at December 1 as Starting Date for Training Camp

The chances of the NBA returning in December continue to grow.

As reported earlier, the league is hoping to start its 2020-21 season right around Christmas Day, which would only be two months since the conclusion of the NBA Finals. The quick turnaround may not be what players are particularly hoping for, but the league is hoping to secure permissions for a December 22nd opening night.

The league has made its official proposal to the NBPA.

While Summer League is obviously cancelled, the league is hoping to have a three week ramp up in the form of a training camp which would begin on December 1st. By starting its season earlier, the league believes that it can increase its revenue by nearly half a billion dollars.

It’s all in the hands of the players now.
