NBA Executives Believes Miami has Become Top Destination for Stars
Who doesn’t love South Beach?
Doesn’t seem like many within the NBA are opposed to it.
According to numerous league executives, there is a growing belief that Miami has become the top preferred destination for NBA stars.
The opportunity to play in south Florida by the beach alongside Jimmy Butler and a collection of young stars definitely brings plenty of appeal, especially when considering the Heat are coached by one of the best in the game in Eric Spoelstra and are led by Pat Riley and a great ownership group. The team’s improbable run to the Finals has only helped bolster the organization’s appeal.
“Front office executives around the league believe the Heat have become the league’s top destination for the next star with a wandering eye,” said Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.
The Heat have been linked to names such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Oladipo. With the ability to clear up cap space by the time the 2021 free agency period rolls in, the Heat may be able to transform into a superteam once again.
But until then, they find themselves in a 3-1 hole to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.
