Inspiring Jimmy Butler Performance Leads Heat Past Lakers in Game 3
Start to finish this game was all about one man.
With the Los Angeles Lakers threatening to push the Miami Heat to the brink of elimination, Jimmy Butler put together one of the more inspiring playoff performances in recent memory to lead the Heat to a crucial 115-104 Game 3 victory.
“Win,” Butler said. “I don’t care about triple-doubles. I don’t care about none of that. I really don’t. I want to win. We did that. I’m happy with the outcome.”
With no Bam Adebayo or Goran Dragic for a second straight game, Butler went off, finishing the game with 40 points on 14-for-20 shooting, grabbing 11 boards and dishing out 13 assists. Four other Heat players finished the night in double-digits, including Canadian Kelly Olynyk who scored 17 points off the bench.
“I think we realized that we belong,” Butler said on how much the win meant for the psyche of his team heading into a pivotal Game 4 on Sunday.
Meanwhile for the Lakers, LeBron James finished the night with 25 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Anthony Davis, who struggled all night with foul trouble, scored 15 points.
