Brand Receives Multi-Year Extension from the Philadelphia 76ers
Elton Brand will be sticking around at least for the start of the Daryl Morey regime.
On Sunday morning, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Philadelphia 76ers have reached a multi-year extension with Brand, keeping him on as the team’s general manager.
Brand replaced Bryan Colangelo back in September of 2018.

The Sixers have made the playoffs in both seasons under Brand’s leadership, but have failed to have much success. Most recently, the Sixers were swept out of the first round by the Boston Celtics, leading to the firing of head coach Brett Brown. A year prior, the Sixers were bounced out of the second round after a Game 7 thriller against the Raptors.
Brand will now be tasked to work alongside Daryl Morey, who was just named the team’s president of basketball operations, as well as new head coach Doc Rivers.
