Ellenson, Johnson, Watanabe Added to Raptors’ Training Camp Roster
The Toronto Raptors roster has been set with training camp just a few short days away.
On Friday, the team added former first round pick Henry Ellenson to a two-year lightly guaranteed deal, and extended training camp invites to Alize Johnson and Yuta Watanabe.
Only $50,000 of Ellenson’s deal is guaranteed. The center was originated selected 18th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons and has averaged just four points and 2.4 rebounds per game for his career. Since being drafted, Ellenson has also suited up for the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks. Ellenson was also acquired by the Raptors 905 this past January from the Long Island Nets.
The Raptors are signing Henry Ellenson to a two-year minimum deal with $50K guaranteed, per a source.
Effectively a camp deal with a small guarantee (not an Ex.10).
Yuta Watanabe and Alize Johnson will also be in camp with the Raptors.
Camp roster at 19, unofficially.

Japan-native Watanabe last appeared for the Memphis Grizzlies G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle and the 26-year old averaged 17.2 points and six boards while shooting at a 36.4-percent clip from long range. Meanwhile, Johnson spent his last two seasons with the Indiana Pacers in a very limited role after being drafted late in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft out of Missouri State.
In light of these moves, the Raptors have waived Dewan Hernandez and Malcolm Miller.
