After 1 Year in Houston, Russell Westbrook Demands a Trade
Hear ye, hear ye.
Sir Russell Westbrook has demanded a trade from the Houston Rockets.
Come one, come all!
Come get your hands on one of the worst contracts in the entire NBA.
On Wednesday afternoon, news broke from Shams Charania of The Athletic that point guard Russell Westbrook has demanded a trade. Important to note, this has apparently not shaken franchise cornerstone James Harden’s commitment to remain in Houston. Per Charania, Westbrook has seemingly been opposed to the direction of the team in the wake of the departures of Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni.

Anyways, the task at hand is potentially trading Westbrook.
If you are a team interested in engaging in conversation, here is something you should probably be made aware of in regards to the 32-year old superstar. The former MVP is owed $131.5 million over the next three seasons and holds a pricy $46.7 million player option in 2022-23. Obviously, if a team is hoping to be financially cavalier amidst a global pandemic, the Rockets would surely listen to interested parties.
Westbrook averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and seven assists in his first season as a Rocket.
