NBA Teams Believe LaMelo Ball is a Lock to go First Overall in Draft
LaVar Ball is somewhere smiling.
According to sources close to Jonathan Givony of ESPN, LaMelo Ball is the presumptive first overall pick in the upcoming November NBA Draft.
This draft has more questions than most.
Obviously, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has essentially ruined this past year, teams have had very few opportunities to watch the incoming 2020 class play in game. Moreover, the coronavirus has also prohibited teams from hosting potential draftees and the annual NBA combine was canceled.
So yes, many questions – few answers.
Over the past few months, the trio of Ball, Anthony Edwards, and James Wiseman have separated themselves as the first three picks, but now it appears that there is clarity on who the consensus top pick will be. The Ball family circus is about to make a strong comeback.
“Most NBA front offices are operating under the assumption that Ball is going No. 1 — either to the Minnesota Timberwolves or a team that trades up to select him,” writes Givony.
The NBA Draft will take place on November 18th.
