First Overall Pick Anthony Edwards Signs Sneaker Deal with Adidas

The first overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft has received his first sneaker deal.

After an impressive start to his NBA career, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards wasted little time before signing on with Adidas. The news were confirmed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

With the endorsement deal secured, the former University of Georgia star joins a star-studded NBA group headlined by the likes of James Harden, John Wall, Damian Lillard, and Donovan Mitchell. Trae Young is another Adidas athlete who recently announced that he will be launching his first signature shoe next year. The terms of Edwards’ sneaker deal have not yet been made public.

The 19-year old is off to a hot start to his career, averaging 16 points through his first three NBA games. The Wolves have gotten off to a 2-2 start.

Edwards joins LaMelo Ball as the only two rookies with a sneaker deal.
