TNT Experiences Most-Watched NBA Opening Night Since 2017

Everyone is excited for the NBA to be back.

What does that mean for the networks – dolla dolla bills y’all!

The NBA’s not-so-long awaited return was met with quite the hoopla as TNT experienced its most-watched NBA opening night since 2017 with an average of 2.9-million viewers. According to the network, this was up a percent from opening night last season and up a whole five percent from the restart back in July.

These numbers should come as no surprise either.

This year’s opening night featured a battle of NBA heavyweights as the Golden State Warriors took on the Brooklyn Nets in Kevin Durant’s return to the court and first matchup against this former team. Later in the night, the battle of Los Angeles kicked off once again as the Clippers took on the defending champion Lakers.

Here’s hoping the NBA continues this trend as the league navigates through what will be an interesting 72 game season.
