Toronto Raptors Sweep Back-to-Back Against Charlotte Without Lowry
So um, this Malachi Flynn guy seems to be pretty good.
The Toronto Raptors appear to have found a steal late in the first round of this past NBA Draft in the form of an undersized point guard out of a mid major.
Between Fred VanVleet and Flynn, the Raptors handled the absence of All-Star Kyle Lowry just fine, taking back-to-back games from the Charlotte Hornets with exceptional second half performances. In both games, the Hornets failed to hit 50 points in the second half as the Raptors won 111-100 on Saturday and 112-109 just two days later.
On Monday, the $84-million man VanVleet led the way with 23 points as Flynn added 17 in the win. Terence Davis put together a 14 point night while All-Star Pascal Siakam poured in 12 points of his own.
Leaving rookie LaMelo Ball still searching for his first win on an NBA court, the Raptors brought their vintage defensive tenacity as Nick Nurse’s team continues to look to prove its doubters wrong once again this coming season.
Next up for the Raptors, the Miami Heat!
