Raptors Appeared Close to Grabbing Giannis in 2013 NBA Draft
I know what you’re doing Open Gym.
I see you tampering on behalf of the Toronto Raptors and to be honest, I love it!
Unless you have been living under a rock, it is probably no secret to you that the Raptors have their sights set on Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021 free agency. The Milwaukee Bucks star doesn’t appear to be interested in signing the super-max this offseason and would therefore be an unrestricted free agent in the Summer – and the Raptors will be ready.
To add to the drama, the latest episode of the Open Gym Docuseries had one particular segment which set social media ablaze on Wednesday night.
Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster, trying to find a way to draft Giannis Antetokounmpo. It seemingly almost happened. 😳

Going all the way back to NBA’s Draft Night in 2013, the Raptors were looking to make a late push to trade for none other than Antetokounmpo. While no trade materialized, the segment clearly showed how much the Raptors front office valued Giannis and the high hopes they had of the prized Greek prospect.
Quality power move which Antetokounmpo hopefully noticed as the Raptors have no plans to sit silent until the Summer.
