J Addison School in Markham has been announced as the first school taking part in the program.
The initiative itself is focused on aiding students and providing summer programs for civics and careers, sports, fashion and film, music and leadership. The release adds that”while the programs are open to all, Vince Carter strongly encourages the Black community, Indigenous community, people of colour and young women to apply.”
“Statistics show that there are lower numbers of minorities and women within the named employment sectors, executive positions associated with the noted program fields but more noticeably in the STEM sector.”
An incredible initiative and a welcomed site to see Carter return and give back to the city of Toronto!
