Raptors Guard Norman Powell Inks Sneaker Deal with AND1
Norman Powell hasn’t only played his way into a flurry of trade rumours.
Early this week, the AND1 brand announced that they have signed the young Toronto Raptors to his first ever professional sneaker deal. According to a press release, the deal was in the works all season long, but “the final dots of the partnership were connected” this week.
“It has been a dream come true to be able to be one of the faces for AND1 and to be able to partner with them. I grew up watching AND1 mixtapes and now to be a part of the brand is surreal,” Powell said following the announcement.

The 27-year old UCLA product is in the midst of a career season in which he is averaging a career-high 19 points per game while shooting a very efficient 53.9 percent from long range and even close to 90 percent from the free throw line. As crazy as it is to believe, though 37 games, Powell is toeing the 50/50/90 shooting mark.
“I’m excited for the partnership between Norm and AND1,” said Powell’s agent, Thad Foucher. “This best in-class shoe and apparel company has long been engrained in the culture of basketball, and their creativity and approach to footwear makes them a great fit for Norm. There has been a long line of iconic and exciting basketball players associated with AND1, and I’m proud that Norm is part of that lineage.”
For those who have been watching Powell develop and play for the last number of years in the Raptors organization understand full well that this shoe deal was earned!
