Legendary NBA Sportscaster Set to Retire at the Conclusion of Playoffs
One of the greatest to ever do it.
The suspicion has been growing over the past few months and now it is confirmed, Marv Albert, one of the greatest sportscasters in the history of the NBA, is set to call it a career.
“Sources said TNT, where Albert has been the lead play-by-player for more than two decades, recently began contacting NBA personnel to pay tribute to Albert during the playoffs,” Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported.
Albert, who will turn 80 next month, has been involved in calling professional games for nearly 60 years and is highly regarded as one of the best play-by-play guys of not only the generation but of all-time. The Brooklyn-native and Basketball Hall of Famer will cover the NBA postseason for TNT in his last hurrah.
TNT has been reported to already be putting together a tribute for Albert which will play at some point during the fast approaching NBA playoffs.
A truly remarkable career for one of the greatest voices of the sport of basketball!
