Wizards’ Russell Westbrook Speaks Out on Interaction with Fan
Plain and simple, the Washington Wizards got blown out in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
As the Philadelphia 76ers continued to toy with their first round opponent as the night went on, Wizards superstar point guard Russell Westbrook suffered an ankle injury and was taken to the locker room.
This is where things got dicey.
Before reaching the tunnel, a fun dumped popcorn on an injured and disgruntled Westbrook, enraging both Westbrook and his teammates. A livid Westbrook needed to be refrained and was ultimately helped to the locker room.

The Wizards star was furious following the 120-95 loss.
“To be completely honest, this s— is getting out of hand, especially for me. The amount of disrespect, the amount of fans just doing whatever the f— they want to do — it’s just out of pocket,” said Westbrook, who’s Game 3 status has yet to be determined. “There are certain things that cross the line. Any other setting … a guy were to come up on the street and pour popcorn on my head, you know what happens.
“In these arenas, you got to start protecting the players. We’ll see what the NBA does.”
The fan was ejected from the game and will surely be banned from any future NBA event.
