Damian Lillard Named Twyman-Stokes Best Teammate of the Year

Despite the first round exit, Damian Lillard put up yet another incredible fight.

The Portland Trail Blazers superstar continues to elevate his game with every passing season, yet still remains an A-1 teammate, and for that, he was recognized by the league on Thursday.

The NBA players selected Lillard as this season’s recipient of the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award. Presented annually since the 2012-13 season, the honour is awarded to the player who has been deemed the best teammate in terms of his selfless play, ability to involve and elevate his teammates, and lead both on and off the court as both a mentor and role model for other NBA players.

Aside from Lillard, the other nominees were Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon, Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Harris, Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris, Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem, Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles, Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanović, Denver Nuggets forward Paul Millsap, Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul, New York Knicks guard Theo Pinson and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns.

Lillard received 40 of the 303 first-place votes and earned 1,012 total points in the balloting of NBA players.
