Raptors Second Round Harris Pick Disqualified from Competition for One Year
These were not the news the Toronto Raptors were hoping for.
One of the bright spots of what has otherwise been a disappointing season for the 2019 NBA champions, Jalen Harris has been dismissed by the NBA for violating its anti-drug program.
Harris will be eligible to apply for reinstatement in a year, but will be forced to sit out the entirety of the 2021-22 season.

The 22-year old out of Nevada stepped up in a big way in the final stretch of the season, scoring 31 points in the team’s final game against the Dallas Mavericks. In 13 NBA in his rookie campaign, the Raptors rookie averaged 7.4 points in 13.2 minutes per game, including 18.5 points per game over his final four regular season games.
Harris is set to become a restricted free agent.
