Toronto Raptors to Make Their Return to Toronto on October 20 vs. Wiz
The Toronto Raptors are coming back home.
After over a year away from the Scotiabank Arena, the Raptors will make their long-awaited return to the 6ix on October 20 when they kick off their season against the Washington Wizards.
Spending the 2020-21 season in Tampa Bay, the Raptors were uninterested in returning to the Amalie Center or anywhere for that matter that isn’t Toronto. The team’s newly named vice chairman and president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri has voiced repeatedly his desire to come back to Canada and those wishes have finally been granted.
“We continue to have a lot of discussions about this and our hope is that we’re playing at home,” Ujiri said. “We have no interest, we have not looked elsewhere, we are not going to look elsewhere, we’re playing at home; we’re trying to play at home. That’s the goal for us.
“I told Larry [Tanenbaum] and Adam [Silver] and even Prime Minister [Justin] Trudeau that playing away set us back a couple of years and we know that, we are ready for that challenge. Playing another year somewhere else will set us back five years. We are not trying to do that.”

Now, get your pens and pencils out Raptors fans because there are a number of marque games that you will need to have circled, with no game more important than Kyle Lowry’s return as a part of the Miami Heat on February 3. He will also be hosting the Raptors on two separate occasions prior on January 17 and 29. Lowry will make one final return to Toronto on April 3.
Separately, Danny Green will finally receive his ring.
The veteran guard will make his first return to Toronto since departing following the team’s championship run on December 28 as a part of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Ma Fuzzy Chef himself Serge Ibaka and the likely still injured Kawhi Leonard will be in Toronto three days later on New Years Eve.
The Raptors will close out their season on April 10 against the New York Knicks.
