Kevin Durant Partners with Weedmaps to Promote Marijuana Use for Athletes
Kevin Durant is a smart business man and makes very calculated decisions when it comes to his business ventures.
This week, Durant and his team announced a partnership and sponsorship deal with cannabis marketplace known as Weedmaps in an effort to destigmatize marijuana use among athletes.
“I think it’s far past time to address the stigmas around cannabis that still exist in the sports world as well as globally,” Durant told ESPN. “This partnership is going to help us continue to normalize those conversations, as well as create content, events, and a lot more through our Boardroom media network. This is just the beginning for us.”

Weedmaps does not directly sell marijuana, but it is an e-commerce platform that guides users to various dispensaries. There has not been marijuana-related suspension in the NBA since 2018.
Durant continues to make very important moves as a leading voice in the league.
