Celtics, Sixers Talking Trade, as Simmons Meets with Sixers Health Specialists

Daryl Morey told Philadelphia 76ers fans to buckle up, but here’s hoping he has his seat belt on.

According to multiple sources, the 76ers are growing impatient with disgruntled star Ben Simmons and have become increasingly irritated by Simmons’ lack of clarity surrounding his mental health.

Initially, Simmons has been reluctant to meet with team-recommended mental health specialists, but since the Sixers reinstituted fines for his failure to cooperate, Simmons followed through with their wishes. That being said, Simmons has provided the Sixers with names of each of his mental health professionals, but due to a confidentiality agreement, the Sixers are not permitted to receive any further information on Simmons’ status from his support workers.

The Sixers currently do not have any sort of return timeline for Simmons but have continued to discuss the 25-year old in potential trades.

Most recently, the Boston Celtics have engaged in trade talks with the Sixers. Any deal involving Simmons would have to include Jaylen Brown, but there is no word on whether that would appease to the Celtics. Brown is currently averaging 25.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, but is expected to miss some time with a hamstring injury.

There remains a chance that Simmons could suit up again this season for the Sixers.
