Anunoby, VanVleet Among Eight Raptors Players in COVID Protocol

The Toronto Raptors have last played on December 18 and there is really no telling when they will play next.

As every single team in the league continues to see massive spikes in COVID cases, the Raptors have been one of the teams that have been hit the hardest of late as their upcoming game against the Chicago Bulls has been postponed due to their inability to dress eight players.

Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, Malachi Flynn, Precious Achiuwa, Gary Trent Jr., and Dalano Banton have all entered the league’s health and safety protocol after testing positive for COVID-19 over the past few days. Meanwhile Khem Birch remains out with a knee injury and Justin Champagnie is inactive due to a non-COVID related illness. Two-way player David Johnson is also unavailable for the Raptors after suffering a calf injury. Totalling everything up, the Raptors are without a mind-boggling 11 players.

The Raptors are set to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 26, but there is no telling whether they will be able to find eight players capable of testing negative and suiting up.

We will keep you posted as more develops.
