Kawhi Nearing Return

Ahead of Schedule, Los Angeles Clippers Expected Kawhi Back This Season

The Los Angeles Clippers are currently eighth in the Western Conference.

The goal all season long has simply been to tread above water for if things turned the right way, the Clippers may have a huge reinforcement coming if they are to qualify for the NBA playoffs.

That seems to be exactly the case as superstar Kawhi Leonard is said to be “ahead of schedule” in his rehab of a torn ACL which he originally suffered last year during the 2021 playoffs. Chris Haynes of TNT reports that there is now a very “strong possibility” that Leonard is to return during the 2021-22 season. Paul George, who is rehabbing a torn UCL, is also expected to be back at some point this season.

Leonard re-signed with the Clippers this past offseason on a four-year, $176.3 million deal. The former two-time Finals MVP averaged 24.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season for the Clippers.

A late season return for Kawhi would impact the entire landscape of the Western Conference playoff picture.
